Choir director and voice director training session

The training takes place over five days a year at Ti Ar Vro in Carhaix.
Proposed dates for 2025: Saturdays 25 January, 29 March, 24 May, 20 September and 22 November.

A vocal technique teacher will lead the 3rd day of training.

The last two days will be spent with a practice choir.

The program

The purpose of these 5 days can be identified in 4 axis :

  • Answer the questions and expectations of the trainees, them already being choir directors or choir stand director aiming at improving their skills to help the choir director. Understand what each trainee is looking for in this training session, what the choir expects from the members sent to the training, and help them learn a few concepts of musical theory and rythm they could miss.
  • Learn the trainees basics of direction, help them discover in themselves what will allow them to train a monophonic or polyphonic choir.
  • Bring the trainers experience to let them be confident, discover the others, learn how to listen and be listened to.
  • Bring the trainees notions of vocal technique, so that some possibly dammaging mistakes can be avoided on singers they will have to conduct.
