The Choeur An Alré is a polyphonic ensemble directed since September 2018 by François Pasco, music education teacher at the Centre de Musique et d’Arts Sacrés de Sainte-Anne d’Auray where she also teaches organ.
The choir has about twenty members from the Auray, Vannes or Ambon area, united around a repertoire of traditional songs from Brittany and the Celtic countries, given in public during several concerts per year. The group continues to work on the interpretation of old melodies and their harmonization in four voices.
Singing mainly in Breton, CHOEUR AN ALRE’s mission, through polyphonic choral singing sometimes accompanied by traditional instruments, is to transmit a high quality Breton and Celtic musical culture.
