Kanerien ar Goëlo is a mixed choir based in Saint-Quay-Portrieux. Founded in 2008 by Bernard Schoenhenz, it has been evolving since 2022 under the direction of Rob Mitchell.
The polyphonic choir performs regularly in public. Its repertoire consists mainly of songs in Breton. The repertoire ranges from traditional works to contemporary creations. The repertoire also includes songs from Celtic countries.
The choir currently has around twenty singers divided into 4 sections (SATB).
Kanerien ar Goëlo won the title of Second Category Champion 2017 at the Brittany Choir Championships. It competed in the first category in 2018.
In 2023, Kanerien ar Goëlo once again competed in the second category and reached the top of the podium.
The choir welcomes all audiences, whether Breton or not. It provides choir members with the tools they need to learn to sing. The only requirement is that they enjoy singing.
Rehearsals take place on Wednesday afternoons at the former town hall, 20 Quai de la République 22410 Saint-Quay-Portrieux.
